A los tres Zyxel que tengo les cambié el firmware hace tiempo, a dos de ellos abriéndolos y usando un cable serie, por lo que tengo experiencia.
Después de actualizarlos siempre los reseteo y los configuro de nuevo a mano.
He dejado conectado el P660HW-T1v2 firmware ZyXEL V3.40(APR.4) durante varios días para ver como se comporta, pues nunca lo había usado con 10 Mb y ha funcionado bien. Después le he cambiado el firm por el APR.5 y lo estoy usando desde hace varios días sin problemas.
No se notan diferencias respecto al APR.4, tal vez vaya algo más rápido al navegar, aunque es difícil de afirmarlo. Por desgracia le encuentro el mismo defecto que al APR.4: que el “Max NAT/Firewall Session Per User” no admite más de 1024 (yo le he puesto 1000), mientras que en algunas versiones del P660HW-D1 admite 2048 e incluso más.
Tal vez sea por eso que el T1v2 con APR.4 me descargaba con el eMule con menos velocidad que los dos D1 que tengo, tanto con firm Telefónica V3.40(AHF.0)b16 como ZyXEL V3.40(AGL.9). La diferencia era clara. Con el APR.5 no he probado el eMule.
Cuando actualice el AGL9 a la nueva 20100303 lo probaré.
Esta es la prueba de niveles de señal con el APR.5. Son casi iguales que con APR.4:
